Montreux Bedroom
From Overwhelm to Bedazzled
A little girl’s bedroom can be so precious and cute!
I was invited for a home staging consultation to this house in the South West of Calgary. The house offered close to 2500 sq feet of living space. When you consider that buyers look at listing photos alone, before they decide to see your house for sale, it is crucial that the photos tell the story of the home you are selling and invite buyers in.
The first thing you see, peaking into this bedroom, is the overwhelming amount of colors and items. The room feels dark and small. When walking through a property to offer my home staging advice, I always approach every room from the perspective of the photographer and the buyer walking through. When setting up a bedroom for a successful sale, it is very important the furniture is placed correctly and buyers get a good idea of the size of the room and the purpose of the space.
It is hard to believe the same furniture was used, no rental furniture was added. The walls were painted in a light and neutral paint color, colors were reduced, the number of toys and décor limited and the results: A neat and clean-lined bedroom that showed so well.
The house sold successfully after all the changes were made.
